Lauer previously worked as an assistant baseball coach at John Carroll University in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, before joining IMG Academy. Lauer is a John Carroll University graduate. Following a stint as an international professional baseball player, he joined the university's faculty to oversee various sports operations as an assistant varsity baseball coach.

As an assistant varsity baseball coach, he oversaw off-season training for dozens of players, published student newsletters, and oversaw game day logistics. He continued to engage in outreach and relationship development while in the position. In addition, he developed a baseball-focused holistic improvement program for students.

Lauer travelled the world as an international professional baseball player from 2015 to 2017. His professional baseball career took him to Canberra, Australia. He also visited Europe, including the French university town of Clermont-Ferrand and the Austrian capital of Vienna.

Lauer was named an International All-Star by European Baseball & Softball Magazine while playing in Austria and France.

Lauer attended Saint Ignatius High School in his Cuyahoga County, Ohio hometown. The school is founded on Ignatian spirituality and encourages intellectual growth and a commitment to social justice. Cuyahoga County Community College

Chet Lauer attended Cuyahoga Community College after graduating from Saint Ignatius High School. Cuyahoga Community College, founded in 1963, is Ohio's oldest and largest public community college. Lauer rose to prominence as a Cuyahoga Community College baseball team member while attending the school.

Lauer attended Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey, and Cuyahoga Community College. Lauer studied business, accounting, and communications at Cuyahoga Community College and Saint Peter's University in Jersey City.

John Carroll University

Personal Life

Chet Lauer has been a lifelong fan of Cleveland sports. The Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Guardians are among those teams.

Lauer is one of eight relatives who graduated from the prestigious Ohio-based John Carroll University. He is the son of Thomas and Mary Lauer and the younger brother of Mary. His father, Thomas Lauer, played baseball at John Carroll University in the late 1970s, just like Chet.

The well-known baseball coach proudly supports several vital charities, nonprofit organizations, and other worthy causes. Aside from his work and charitable efforts, he has a variety of hobbies, interests, and pastimes. Golf, yoga, and video editing are a few of these hobbies, interests, and pastimes. He is also an enthusiastic triathlete.

He was born and raised in University Heights, Ohio, and he still lives there when he is not working away from home. Beachwood, Cleveland Heights, South Euclid, and Shaker Heights are all nearby. University Heights, located in Cuyahoga County, is known as the City of Beautiful Homes.
